Senior Nonprofit Strategist
Cate Redfern, CFRE, helps nonprofits leverage their limited resources so that they can excel at achieving their mission. A Certified Fundraising Executive with Bachelors Degrees in Communication and Marketing earned at the University of South Africa and Institute of Marketing Management, Cate has a unique background with over 20 years’ experience as a nonprofit board member, volunteer, development director, executive management team member and consultant in the United States, Cayman Islands, Botswana and South Africa.
Cate is highly regarded for strategic thinking, problem-solving and driving performance improvement in challenging and fast-paced environments to further organizational goals. With finely tuned analytical skills and the ability to quickly assess challenges and opportunities in a wide range of situations, Cate facilitates the development of achievable goals and associated action plans in a resourceful, sincere and transparent manner. She works with clients to establish, prioritize and achieve strategic measurable goals through consulting audit and assessment services, program development services, change management consulting, and individual and group training and coaching.
The results lead to strengthened relationships and improved meaningful engagement among staff, donors and clients. Her varied international experience in a wide range of nonprofit sectors has centered on maximizing the engagement potential of current and prospective stakeholders and finding effective ways to develop and cultivate these relationships in a way that is impactful to both the nonprofit and its partners.
Cate’s commitment to service excellence within and advancement of the nonprofit sector is expressed through her volunteer efforts. She is a volunteer Auxiliary Member of SCORE: St. Louis Chapter, providing SCORE mentors and their nonprofit clients with nonprofit expertise within her subject areas. She is a workshop and seminar presenter for SCORE St. Louis’ nonprofit education programs, including: How to Start and Manage a Nonprofit in Missouri; Strategic Planning for Nonprofits; and How to Create an Annual Fundraising Plan. Cate’s commitment to the nonprofit sector continues through her volunteer participation on the Boards of Directors for community nonprofits. She is the Vice President of the Board of Directors for Craftability, Inc., an organization that teaches children of all abilities to learn to be comfortable with and show appreciation towards adults with special needs, and the elderly, as they work together on arts and crafts projects. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals: St. Louis Chapter where she chairs the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Cate is a practicing Reiki Master and is committed to making the world a better place by facilitating connection to the universal life force through love, compassion and kindness.
